Luke and
Steven Complete in the Fireball Rally
Lake
Zurich, IL – (October 2, 2007) Luke Zoetmulder and Steven Federico,
headed to Orlando, Florida only a couple of days after the final round
of the 2007 Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing, to compete in
the 3500 mile, nine day transcontinental adventure, known as the
Insurance Office of America Fireball Run.
The Fireball Run is a live action “game” and America is the game
board. Starting in Orlando, Florida and finishing in Beverly Hills,
California. While the 100 rally teams are having fun & sharing an
incredible experience with the other competitors, the real goal is to
help find America’s children… called “The Race to Recover America’s
Missing.”™
Every team will make the journey with a different missing child whose
image & stats are affixed to the vehicle- creating a “rolling milk
carton.”
The Fireball Run’s
“Race to Recover America’s Missing Children”
Our hosts and sponsors have chosen to use Fireball’s massive cross
country exposure to help locate America’s missing children- and YOU
can be a major part of this noble effort.
Every Fireball Run team will be assigned a different missing child.
The mission; distribute as many posters as possible along the 3500
journey from Orlando Florida to Los Angeles California. Upon arrival
to the 2007 Insurance Office of America Fireball Run teams will
apply a full color removable decal of their missing child to their
vehicle.
You too can assist in the recovery of America’s missing children and
ultimately reunite them with their loving families by reviewing our
missing children list, supporting your favorite team’s effort, and
of course by donating to the Child Rescue Network
www.ChildRescueNetwork.org
A
very special limited edition Fireball Run patch with every $50.00
donation.
Every team, effort, and poster counts…
…together we can recover America’s missing children.
Many thanks and good luck in both winning the 2007 Insurance Office
of America Fireball Run, and in the recovery of Americas missing
children.

Saturday –September 29
After Friday’s check-in and welcoming party, all the teams were
accounted for at Saturday morning’s drivers meeting. The organizers
stressed the importance of safety, finding our child, and then racing
our way cross-country to Beverly Hills.
With clues in hand, and competitors in line, the City of Orlando put
the rally in motion. The starting area was filled with excitement as a
parade of marching bands, thousands of well wishers, and all kinds of
media were on hand to watch the 100 teams take to the street on their
way to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
As the teams solve the clues, that get them to the designated points
along the route, bonus points are awarded to each team for getting a
photo with a state trooper, photos by each state’s welcome sign, and
by posting and handing out the poster of each team’s missing child.
One of the first clues along the route was to “Chill with Queen of
Baghdad”, eventually the team found their way to a Dairy Queen.
The final portion of Saturday’s route had all the competitors escorted
by the Louisiana State Police, seventy miles, to a huge reception from
the City of Baton Rouge.
Sunday – September 30
The morning saw the Mayor of Baton Rouge send the teams on their way
with the latest clue. The first stop was at the Huey Long Statute to
watch this tribute to one of Louisiana’s most famous politicians, as
it rises up from the ground.
From there, the clues led Sticker Dude Motorsports to the smallest
church in the United States. It has room for five people, and holds
services only once a year. The last clue put the team in Beaumont,
Texas at the site of the largest fire hydrant in the country. Once
again the city put out the red carpet for all the competitors, as the
mayor and her staff, the fire chief, and the media, greeted the
Fireball Rally with open arms.
Monday – October 1
Monday was race day at Texas Motor Speedway. Steven would pilot the
Toyota Tundra TRD around the raceway for a timed run. The time posted
by the off-road racer, was the fastest truck in the rally. Afterwards
Steven commented, “This Tundra TRD is awesome, the horsepower is
incredible, the brakes really allowed me to dive deep into the
corners, deeper than I thought I could.”
Later in the rally, Luke will get the chance to compete in a similar
competition at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
That’s the latest from Sticker Dude Motorsports as the Fireball Rally
makes its way to the West Coast. Look for more rally updates from the
team as the event progresses.
